Excellerator RT Video Tutorial

How to Perform MOPs with the Excellerator RT Driver

Quick Start

Preparing the Patient:

  1. Evaluate the treatment area on the patient
  2. Have the patient rinse 2x with chlorhexidine for the duration of 1 minute each
  3. Anesthetize using either topical or local infiltration

Preparing the Driver:

  1. Remove your tip of choice from its sterilized packaging
  2. Insert the tip by pressing the round release button at the base of the driver and sliding the key end of the tip into the driver’s neck. Let go of the button to lock the tip in.

Performing Micro-Osteoperforations™:

  1. To begin, hold the driver perpendicular to the gingiva while keeping the tissue taught
  2. Rotate the driver clockwise while applying gentle pressure
  3. Continue to turn until the desired depth is reached
  4. Rotate the driver counter clockwise to remove
  5. At the completion of the treatment, remove the single use tip and dispose of it appropriately

Patient After Care:

Acetaminophen should ease any minor discomfort. It is important to avoid Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatories (NSAIDs) as they have been shown to inhibit orthodontic tooth movements.*
