Dr. Tarek El-Bialy presents:

Advanced Aligner Cases using High Frequency Vibration

 

 

Learning Objectives:

-Understand how high frequency vibration (HFV) is used to ensure predictability of orthodontic treatment results/outcomes

-Review new scientific insights on the effect of HFV on bone and periodontal ligament physiology and clinical outcomes

-Gain insight on the effectiveness of HFV for seating clear aligners, improving tooth movement results and velocity, maintaining treatment results during retention and correcting simple relapse without need for retreatment

 

Presenter Bio:

Dr. Tarek El-Bialy is a tenured full-time professor of orthodontics and biomedical engineering at the University of Alberta, Canada. He received a master’s degree in Orthodontics and a law degree, at Tanta University, Egypt; a certificate of specialty in Orthodontics, Master’s Degree in Oral Sciences and PhD in Bioengineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago; an Executive Master of Business and Administration (EMBA) from the University of Alberta; and a second doctoral degree from university of Bonn, Germany in Orthodontic Biomechanics

Dr. El-Bialy has over 90 peer reviewed publications, 12 book chapters and three books, one of them on biomechanics of complex cases using clear aligners. He also presented all over the world on one-week aligner changes and biomechanics of difficult cases using SmartTrack® Invisalign® clear aligners. Dr. El-Bialy’s main research focus is on accelerated tooth movement and prevention of orthodontically induced root resorption as well as orthodontic biomechanics and dentofacial tissue engineering.
